Traditionally, all such/similar problems/questions relate to puzzles, not to Math.

Any number may come next.

For example, the number 12345678.

Or the number 98765432.

Or any other number:   98,   ,   ,      or   ,   and so on . . .

The other tutor is correct, in that we can never know the answer to a question like this.

Spend a little time (or a lot, if you want) looking for pattern(s) in the given numbers that suggest what the answer MIGHT be.

One thing you can do if you don't see any pattern with the given numbers is to split it into two "spliced" sequences. In this example, that gives you something that allows you to GUESS what the answer is.
