Note that it is VERY LIKELY that the missing number is 256, because it creates a very simple pattern among all the numbers.

However, the problem is in fact invalid, because ANY number in the blank would create a valid sequence.

In order for a problem like this to be valid, there has to be some information given about what kind of sequence it is.
