You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2.4=-A+(-5.1)
Add +A to each side and subtract 2.4 from each side:
2.4 + A =-A+A + (-5.1)
2.4 + A = (-5.1)
2.4 - 2.4 + A = (-5.1) - 2.4
Notice that since the 5.1 and the 2.4 both have negative signs in front of them, you consider them both as negatives or debts to be added together. The result is -7.5.
