Find the mean of the set: = 0.714
Subtract the mean from each data value.
Square this difference for each data value
Add these square values.
Divide by 7 if you are considering this set to be the population.
OR
Divide by 6 if you are considering this set to be a sample.
Using a TI calculator I get:
sigma = 6.227
OR
s = 6.726
