Question 906378: QUESTION: The length of plot is 4 times its breadth.A playground measuring 12 meter square occupies one third of total area of plot.What is the length of plot?
I tried: length(l)=4*breadth(b),
1/3(4b*b)= 12,
after solving above equation,
b= 3m so, l= 12m (My answer)
BUT IN THE BOOK ANSWER IS 120m(length).

Question 907826: How to represent the area of w= x and l = x+2?
How to present the area of (w-3) and l= (x+8)?
Write an open sentence that would indicate that the area of the new and original rectangles are equal.

Question 907989: I am trying to figure out this problem!!! It is
"The length of a rectangle is 4 units less than 3 times the width. The perimeter is 22 units more than twice the width. Find the length and width of the rectangle."
i have already tried X=4+(3w)+(w+22) but I don't know if it is right, or has been formatted correctly.

Question 908088: Please view picture here https://app.box.com/s/4igxk9cj1tjugrdkv1ap
Write an expression for the perimeter of both rectangles. Then, simplify each expressions.
(I got 2(2x)+2(25), then (30+4x) for the square, and 2(3x)+2(2), then 4+6x) for the rectangle)
Write an expression for the area of each rectangle, then simplify each expression.
(I got 2(2x)*2(15), then 30*4x for the square, and 2(3x)*2(2), then 4*6x for the rectangle.
