Let the width be x.
Then the length is 3x-5.
Perimeter=2(length+width)
2(x+3x-5)=30
4x-5=15
4x=20
x=5
Width=5 inches
Length=10 inches
Area=length*width=50 square inches.
Area of the rectangle=50 square inches.
