You can put this solution on YOUR website!
W=width; L=length=2W; P=perimeter=24cm
P=2(L+W) Substitute for L.
24cm=2(2W+W)
24cm=6W Divide each side by 6.
4cm=W The width is 4 centimeters.
L=2W=2(4cm)=8cm The length is 8 centimeters.
A=LW
A=%288cm%29%284cm%29
A=32cm%5E2 ANSWER: The area is 32 square centimeters.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
W= W
L= 2W
2W+2L= 24, since L= 2W:
2W+2(2W)= 24 Multiply to get rid of the parenthesis:
2W+4W= 24 Add on the left:
6W= 24 Divide both sides by 6:
W= 4
Check:
W= 4
L= 2(4)= 8
Perimeter= 2(4)+ 2(8)= 8+16= 24 Our answer is correct.
