one side = 4 cm = 4/100 m ( 1 cm = 1/100 m)
area = one side *other side
40+=+%284%2F100%29%2Aother+side
multiply with 100 on both sides
40%2A100+=+%284%2F100%29%2A100+%2Aother+side
4000+=+4+%2Aother+side
divide with 4 on both sides
+4000%2F4+=+4%2Aother+side%2F4
1000+=other+side
other side = 1000 m
Result: other side = 1000 m
