Question 935516: The perimeter of a rectangle is p inches and the area of the rectangle is 36 square inches. If l and w are integers, what is one possible value of p? Answer by hovuquocan1997(83) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! They say that the area of the rectangle is 36 square inches, and we know that are of a rectangle is l x w
So we have
Now you just need to think of two numbers that multiply together and give you 36, such as 4 and 9, 12 and 3, 18 and 2, etc
The question only asks for ONE possible value of p, so we just need to choose one set of length and width, in this case I will choose 18 and 2
So one possible value of p is 40 inches.
