Hi,
.
L + w = 55
(3w+7) + w = 55ft
4w = 48
w = 12ft and L = 43ft 3%2A12%2B7
and checking...
sum = 55ft

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

the length L of a rectangle is seven more than three times the width W
L=3W%2B7ft
and the perimeter is P=110ft
since P=2%28L%2BW%29, we have
110ft=2%28L%2BW%29
110ft%2F2=L%2BW
55ft=L%2BW ...substitute L=3W%2B7ft
55ft=3W%2B7ft%2BW ....solve for W
55ft-7ft=4W
48ft=4W
48ft%2F4=W
highlight%28W=12ft%29
now find L
L=3W%2B7ft
L=3%2A12ft%2B7ft
L=36ft%2B7ft
highlight%28L=43ft%29
