Let's assume the size of the rectangle is 2x by 4x
To find the perimeter, add 2 lengths and 2 widths.
The perimeter is a fence around a property. How many fence lengths will you need?
2x + 2x for the short sides, and
4x + 4x for the long sides.
2x+2x+4x+4x = 12x
