VARIABLES: w for width, L for length


TRANSLATE: L=-8+3w, 2w+2L=64.

SIMPLIFY AND SUBSTITUTE:
w+L=32;
w+(3w-8)=32

SOLVE FOR w FIRST:
4w-8=32
4w=24
w=6

Finish finding L:
L=3w-8
L=3*6-8
L=18-8
L=10
