You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write or list everything you know about this problem.

p for perimeter,
highlight_green%282%283x%2B2%29%2B2%2A2=178%29----USE THIS NOW!
width is 2
length is 3x+2
A is area,
highlight_green%28A=%283x%2B2%29%2A2%29

Most obvious is you can solve for x and then use it to answer, what is A.

6x%2B4%2B4=178
6x=170
x=170%2F6=85%2F3=highlight_green%2828%261%2F3=x%29, and use this to help find A.

i was stuck on one question on my homework...it says the area of a rectangle with length is 3x+2 and width 2 is 178ft squared. What is the perimeter of the rectangle?

x = 29
Length: 3(29) + 2, or 87 + 2, or 89
Width: 2 (given)
Perimeter: 2(89) + 2(2), or 178 + 4, or highlight_green%28182%29 units
You can do the check!!
