Question 846842: ABCD is a rectangle with vertices A(-2,3) B(2,4) C(3,0) and D(a,-1)
Algebraically, determine the missing coordinate of D without graphing the rectangle.
(if you could show the work that would be very helpful)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

To go from A to B, you moved right 4 (2-(-2)) and up 1 unit.
So to go from C to D, reverse it, move left 4 and down 1 unit.
3-4=-1 x value
0-1=-1 y value, just a check to make sure the logic was right
So then a=-1
