the length of a rectangle is 4cm less than five times the width+highlight_green%28x%29

 (5x-4cm) + x = 44cm

     6x = 48cm

      x = 8cm, the width.  Length is 36cm   5%2A8+-+4cm

CHECKING our answer***

 8cm + 36cm = 44cm     0r   16cm + 72cm = 88cm
