Question 83593: On this particular problem you are to refer to the rectangle, but I don't know how to add the rectangle into this page for a visual effect, but this is the directions and the measurements that I have.
Find the perimeter of the given rectangle: The measurements that I have are: Top part of rectangle (length) is x/2x-5 and the width line on the right is 8/2x-5.
I hope that this is enough to understand what is needed and please explain step by step for me. Thank You.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since the perimeter is
P=2L%2B2w

we can factor out a 2 to make the equation

P=2%28L%2Bw%29

Now plug in L=x%2F%282x-5%29 and w=8%2F%282x-5%29

P=2%28x%2F%282x-5%29%2B8%2F%282x-5%29%29

Since we have a common denominator, we can add the fractions

P=2%28%28x%2B8%29%2F%282x-5%29%29 Combine the fractions

P=%282x%2B16%29%2F%282x-5%29 Multiply

So the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of x%2F%282x-5%29 and a width of8%2F%282x-5%29 is %282x%2B16%29%2F%282x-5%29
