Easier to do in purely algebraic, arithmetic symbolism.

x = AB = CD = y+6
y = BC = DA = unknown

Perimeter is given, so 2x%2B2y=84
x%2By=42
y=42-x
+y=42-%28y%2B6%29
y=42-y-6
y=38-y
2y=38
highlight%28y=19%29
