You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This says that the perimeter = x
the width measures 1 unit ans the length
measures 3 units, so the perimeter measures
1+%2B+3+%2B+3+%2B+1+=+8 units
Therefore the width is x%2F8
The length is 3%2A%28x%2F8%29
The area is %28x%2F8%29%2A3%2A%28x%2F8%29+=+3x%5E2+%2F+64 answer
to check, just say x is any number, like 64
width is 64%2F8+=+8
length is +3%2A%2864%2F8%29+=+24
area is 8%2A24+=+192
Is that the same as 3x%5E2+%2F+64 ?
3x%5E2+%2F+64%7D+=+3%2A64%5E2+%2F+64
3%2A64+=+192 OK
