You can put this solution on YOUR website!
( 7 yds ) / ( 3 jackets ) = (7/3) yds / ( 1 jacket )
To make 7 jackets,
+7%2A%287%2F3%29+%2F+7+
+%2849%2F3%29+%2F+7+
+49%2F3+=+16+%2B+1%2F3+
You need 16 and 1/3 yards of material to
make 7 jackets, so 15 yds is not enough

Divide 7 by 3 to calculate the number of yards required for each jacket. Divide 15 by 7 to calculate the number of yards you bought for each jacket. Subtract your first calculation from your second. A negative answer is under and a positive answer is over.
