The area of a rectangle field is 9,000 square meters.

if the ratio of the widthW to the lengthL is 5 is to 8...

     +W%2FL+=+5%2F8 and W = 5L/8

 A = L*W = L(5L/8) = 5L^2/8 = 9000

                      L^2 = 9000(8/5)

                       L = 120ft     (throwing out the negative number for unit of measure)
