We also know that the perimeter of a rectangle can be calculated using the formula
P=2L%2B2W
Now substituting the 8+W for L and the given perimeter we get:
24=2%288%2BW%29%2B2W
24=16%2B2W%2B2W
24-16=4W
8=4W
8%2F4=W
W=2
