The length is 5ft more than the width.

 Let x and (x+5ft) represent the width and length respectively

Question states***

  2(x+5ft) + 2x = 104ft

        4x = 94ft

         x = 23.5ft, the width.  The length is 28.5

 

CHECKING our Answer***  

   47ft + 57ft = 104ft
