You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If a garden box is x by x square feet and the area is three times the perimeter what is the value for x?
:
The area: x^2
the perimeter 4x
:
3x^2 = 4x
Divide both sides by x
3x = 4
x = 4%2F3
x = 11%2F3 ft

:
Check this:
Find 3 time the area: 3(1.33^2) ~ 5.3
Find the perimeter: 4(1.33) ~ 5.3
:
He sorry that I got this backwards, it should be
x^2 = 3(4x)
x^2 = 12x
Divide by x
x = 12
