Let x and (2x+5)represent the ages of Carlos and Raul respectively

Question states***

  x +(2x+5) = 101

Solving for x

     3x = 96

      x = 32, Carlos' age.  Raul is 69  (2*32 + 5)

     32 + 69 = 101
