The length of a rectangle is five times its width

Let x and 5x represent the width and length respectvely

  2*5x + 2*x = 72ft

     12x = 72ft

       x = 6ft, the width.  the length is 30ft  (5*6ft)

CHECKING our Answer***

2*30ft + 2*6ft = 72ft
