2l + 2w = 46, or l+w = 23, l = 23-w.
lw = 120. By direct substitution, (23-w)w = 120, or 23w+-+w%5E2+=+120, or
0+=+w%5E2-23w%2B120, or (w-15)(w-8) = 0. This gives w = 15 or w = 8. Since the width is usually the shorter value, then the length is 15 meters and the width is 8 meters.
