Good thing you stopped where you did because you were going in the complete wrong direction. What you have by saying that the width is and the length is (which was absolutely the right first thing to do) and then multiplying those quantities is that the AREA (not the perimeter) is 302 SQUARE feet. That's because the formula for the area is length times width.
What you need is the formula for the perimeter:
And then substitute your expression for length and the given value of the perimeter:

And then just solve for from which follows directly.
