Perimeter is the distance around or the outside distance of the rectangle..
so you would add up all the sides..if the length is 8 and the width 27, then you have 2 lengths and 2 widths, since this is a rectangle.
to solve it would be:
2(8) + 2(27) = x
16 + 54 = 70
so the perimeter is 70
