Let the width be x
Three times width = 3x
8 cms less than 3x = 3x-8 = length
Area of rectangle = Length * width
= (3x-8)* x
= 3x^2-8x
If width = 10 cms
3*(10)^2 * 10
3*100*10
3000 sq. cms
