P=2w+2l

Step 1. Let A+=+area+=+w+%2A+l where w is the width and l is the length.

Step 2. Given w=5 inches, then l=A%2Fw=45%2F5=9 inches.

Step 3. Perimeter P means adding up all four sides or P=w%2Bw%2Bl%2Bl=2%28w%2Bl%29=2%285%2B9%29=2%2A14=28 inches

Step 4. ANSWER: The perimeter is 28 inches.
