the isosceles rriangle short side is half the length of one of the long sides.
the let x = the length of the short side.
2x = the length of one of the long sides.
2x = the length of the other long side, since this is an isosceles triangle which means that 2 sides are of equal length.
the perimeter of the triangle is therefore x + 2x + 2x = 5x.
since the perimeter is 15, then 5x = 15 which makes x = 3.
the length of the short side is 3.
the length of the long sides is 6 each.
