Question 1012015: Hi i was looking at the Ken's yard problem. Ken's area of his rectangular yard is 480 square feet. The yard is 24 feet wide. How many feet of fencing would he need to buy to fence all four sides. I got 88ft. You got 98ft. Can you tell me how you got that answer? Answer by Rajendrakar(2) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Area of rectangle = length x width
480 sq ft = length x 24 ft
So length of the rectangle = 480/24 = 20 feet (Dividing both sides by 24)
Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (length + width) = 2 (20 + 24 )
= 2 (44) = 88 feet
88 feet is the length of the fencing that is required.
