Question 959650: I need help on designing a rational function with x-intercepts at -4 and 1; y-intercept 1/2; vertical asymptotes x=-2 and x=2; horizontal asymptote y=2.
I got 2x%5E2%2B6x-8/x%5E2-4 so far but I don't know quite how to put in the y-intercept, please and thank you.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
That is exactly the function which has those specified data. You can enter the equation into Google and see the graph. Look at what happens to the equation for y if you set x=0. -8%2F%28-4%29 is 2.
