x%5E2-2x=6%2F3


x%5E2-2x=2


x%5E2-2x%2Bred%281%29=2%2Bred%281%29 Take half of the -2 in -2x and then square it. The result is 1 which is what you add to both sides

%28x-1%29%5E2=3
