You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What you want to express is this:
(y-1)/(x+3)=-3/4.

The spaces as you seem to use are not working right for you. With the expression in pure text as I showed, put triple left curly braces and triple right curly bracess, each looking like { and }.

The equation will then look like:
%28y-1%29%2F%28x%2B3%29=-3%2F2;
The braces make the site render into mathematical notation.

The equation when simplified will become a linear equation. Multiply both members by 4(x+3). This will immediately give
4%28y-1%29=-3%28x%2B3%29, combined steps which you hopefully understand;
4y-4=-3x-9
4y=-3x-5
highlight%28y=-%283%2F4%29x-5%2F4%29
You do not solve that; you obtain a linear equation in two variables. This is shown in slope-intercept form, but you can adjust it into whichever form you want or need.
