Page 795: Problem # 56 solve the inequality and graph the solution set on a real number line.
A model rocket is launched from ground level. The function:
S(t) = -16t^2 +48t
Models the rocket’s height above the ground, s(t) in feet, t seconds after it was launched. During which period will the rocket’s height exceed 32 feet?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The function:
S(t) = -16t^2 +48t
Models the rocket’s height above the ground, s(t) in feet, t seconds after it was launched. During which period will the rocket’s height exceed 32 feet?
------------
s(t) is the height of the rocket above the ground.
Let s(t) = 32 feet and solve for time = t.
--------
EQUATION:
-16t^2+48t=32
t^2-3t+2=0
(t-2)(t-1)=0
t=1 or t=2
the rocket is at or above 32 ft. between t=1 and t=2 seconds
1 < t <2
-----------
