You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Given:
(1) 1%2F2+-%28x-2%29%2F3+=+1%2F6
The LCD is 6, so multiply BOTH side of (1) by 6 to get
(2) 6%2A%281%2F2%29+-+6%2A%28x-2%29%2F3+=+6%2A%281%2F6%29 or
(3) 3+-+2%2A%28x-2%29+=+1 or
(4) 3+-+2x+%2B4+=+1 or
(5) -2x+=+1+-+7 or
(6) -2x+=+-6 or
(7) x+=+3
Check this with (1).
Is (1/2 -(3-2)/3 = 1/6)?
Is (1/2 - 1/3 = 1/6)?
Is ((3-2)/2*3 = 16)?
Is (1/6 = 1/6)? Yes
Answer: x = 3
