Let's assume you know that f(x)=|x| looks like
a "V" with the bottom point at (0,0).

The "(x+1)" moves the entire graph 1 to the left so
the bottof of the V is at (-1,0)
----
The "-2" flips it over the x-axis so not the tip of
the V is still at (-1,0) but the V is upside down.
---------
The "-3" lovers all the points of the graph so the
tip of the V is now at (-1,-3).
