Multiply by 15
15*%28%28q%2B8%29%29%2F3 + 15*%28%28q-5%29%29%2F5 = 15*13%2F3
cancel the denominators and you have
5(q+8) + 3(q-5) = 5(13)
:
5q + 40 + 3q - 15 = 65
8q + 25 = 65
8q = 65 - 25
8q = 40
q = 40/8
q = 5
