You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If h(x)=x/(2x+15), find x such that h(x)=2
.
Start with:
h(x)=x/(2x+15)
Substitute 2 for h(x) to get:
2=x/(2x+15)
Now, solve for x:
Begin by multiplying both sides by (2x+15) to get:
2(2x+15) = x
4x + 30 = x
3x + 30 =0
3x = -30
x = -10

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
h%28x%29=x%2F%282x%2B15%29 Start with the given equation.

2=x%2F%282x%2B15%29 Plug in h%28x%29=2 (ie replace h(x) with 2).

2%282x%2B15%29=x Multiply both sides by 2x+15.

4x%2B30=x Distribute.

4x=x-30 Subtract 30 from both sides.

4x-x=-30 Subtract x from both sides.

3x=-30 Combine like terms on the left side.

x=%28-30%29%2F%283%29 Divide both sides by 3 to isolate x.

x=-10 Reduce.

Answer:

So the solution is x=-10

To check the answer, plug x=-10 back into the original function. You'll find that the output will be h%28-10%29=2
