Question 263889: I had missed school for a couple of days and I don't get the homework! The book doesn't give much information either. So here is the problem.
y=3x+1
The final answer I got was (x-1)/3=y and I want to know if that is even close to being right.
And the one I can't get is:
y=(x+1)^2
Thanks for the help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
So here is the problem.
y=3x+1
The final answer I got was (x-1)/3=y and I want to know if that is even close to being right.
You didn't say what you wanted to do. Maybe solve for x?
x = (y-1)/3 which is similar to what you showed for y. The "final answer" you show is not right.
---------
And the one I can't get is:
y=(x+1)^2
x%2B1+=+sqrt%28y%29
x+=+%2Bsqrt%28y%29+-+1
x+=+-sqrt%28y%29+-+1
