Question 217451: x^2+4x+16
is this able to be simplified
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! this is in its simplest form without factoring it.
different people have different ideas about what is the simplest form.
this one looks simplest to me.
somebody might say that you could factor out the 4 and get x^2 + 4*(x+4) but I don't think that would be accurate.
As a matter of fact, if the equation were given in the form of x^2 + 4*(x+4), then you would want to reduce it to its simplest form by removing the parenthese and combining like terms.
The equation would become x^2 + 4x + 16 which could not be reduced any further.
I won't swear to it but that's my take and I'm fairly confident I'm right.
