Find the equations of the asymptotes of:
a) g%28x%29+=+log%28x-3%29 For what value of x is the function undefined?
g%283%29+=+log%283-3%29=log%280%29 The log%280%29 is undefined, so at x = 3 there is a vertical asymptote at highlight%28x+=+3%29 and this is the equation of the asymptote.
b) g%28x%29+=+-log%28x%29 For what value of x is the function undefined?
g%280%29+=+-log%280%29 The function is undefined at x = 0 so there is a vertical asymptote at highlight%28x+=+0%29 and this is the equation of the asymptote.
