You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since f(x) and y are the same thing, f(x)-3 does the same thing for the
y of the point (0,-8) as it does to f(x), which is to add -3 to it, so
(0,-8) becomes (0,-8-3) or (0,-11).  It shifts it down three units.
