I came up with x+2x=6
3x=6
B=2 hours
A=x hours
x=2 hours for A
2x=4 hours for B

An inlet pipe can fill a barrel with wine in 8 hrs, while an outlet pipe can empty it in 6 hrs. Through an error, both pipes on a full barrel are left open. How many hours will it take to empty the barrel?

There are four areas in my yard where this sod needs to be place. These three places measure (in feet):

**If Sally can paint a house in 4 hours, and John can paint the same house in 6 hour, how long will it take for both of them to paint the house together?
I tried taking 6 and dividing it by 4 and i tried subtracting it. I did't exactly come up with the exact answer but i just came up with an answer that had at least 2 hours and I got the question wrong.
