A chemist wants to mix a 62% alcohol solution with 8 liters of 54% alcohol solution to produce a solution that is 59% alcohol. How many liters of the 62% alcohol solution should be used? Round to two decimal places.

So that's 0.62x+0.54(8) = (0.59)(x+8)

Solve that and get

Answer:  x=13.33 liters.
