EDIT: Incorrectly stated "days per job" in places where should have said "jobs per day". Now corrected.

Not knowing what is the definition of the "unitary" method, a guess is that this is to determine the rate of work for one man based on the rate of the given reference group of men.

40 men _______________ 60 days, for 1 job
1 man ________________ 60*40 days, for that same 1 job

That one-man rate is 1%2F2400 JOBS per DAY.

The rate of every man doing a job is additive to find the rate of work of a group of men. If you now want the rate for 75 men, then ... just multiply by the one-man rate:

75%281%2F2400%29 JOBS per DAY
OR
2400%2F75=800%2F25=8%2A2%2A2%2A5%2A5%2F%285%2A5%29=highlight%2832%29 DAYS per JOB
