Question 687626: Work Rate: After working together on a common job, one worker completes x+2/4 of the work and another completes x+3/6 of the work. How much more did the first worker accomplish than the second?
My answer and steps:
x+2/4 - x+3/6 = 6x+12/4 - (-4x-12)/24 = 10x/24 which is lowest term to 5x/12

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I assume that the job was completed
after they did their work.
So, each one contributed a fraction and
the 2 fractions should add up to 1.
+%28x+%2B+2%29+%2F4+%2B+%28x+%2B+3%29+%2F6+=+1+
Multiply both sides by +12+
+3%2A%28+x+%2B+2+%29+%2B+2%2A%28+x+%2B+3+%29+=+12+
+3x+%2B+6+%2B+2x+%2B+6+=+12+
+5x+=+0+
+x+=+0+
+%28+x%2B2+%29%2F4+=+%28+0%2B2+%29%2F4+
+%28+0+%2B+2+%29%2F4+=+1%2F2+
and
+%28+x+%2B+3+%29%2F6+=+%28+0+%2B+3+%29%2F6+
+%28+0+%2B+3+%29+%2F+6+=+1%2F2+
---------------------
I get they both did 1/2 of the job.
Check my work, though
