You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If it takes 5 workmen 10 days to build the main shell of a house, how long would you expect 3 men to take?
----
# of days and # of men are inversely related.
----
Equation:
d = k/m
----
Solve for "k" using "it takes 5 workmen 10 days to build the main shell"
---
10 = k/5
k = 5*10 = 50
----
Equation:
d = 50/m
-------
how long would you expect 3 men to take?
# of days = 50/3 = 16 2/3 days

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If 5 men takes 10 days, then it would take
1 man 5 times longer to do the same job
so, 1 man takes 50 days to do it
3 men would take 1/3 of that time, or
50/3 days
+50%2F3+=+16+%2B+2%2F3+
3 men would take 16 and 2/3 days
