You can put this solution on YOUR website! I got stuck on this word problem can anyone help, thanks. At the Northside assembly plant, 5% of the workers were classified as minority, while at the southside assembly plant, 80% of the workers were classified as minority. When Northside and southside were closed, all workers transferred to the new Eastside plant to make up its entire work force. If 50% of the 1500 employees at Eastside are minority, then how many employees did Northside(N SAY) and Southside(S SAY) have originally??
 MINORITIES IN N.S PLANT = 5%..THAT IS N*5/100=N/20.....................1
 MINORITIES IN S.S.PLANT = 80%...THAT IS S*80/100=4S/5.................2
 BOTH WENT TO E.S.PLANT
 HENCE TOTAL WORKERS = N+S=1500.................3
 MINORITIES ARE = 50%.....THAT IS 1500*50/100=750
 BUT FROM 1 & 2 ..750 = N/20 + 4S/5
 MULTIPLYING BY 20......... N+16S=15000................4
 EQN4 - EQN.3
 15S=15000-1500=13500
 S=900
 N=600
